Watch: 'He thinks he is alone on the track'- Fernando Alonso blasts Lewis Hamilton over impending during Emilia Romagna GP FP2
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

The Emilia Romagna GP weekend is underway. Lewis Hamilton will be racing in Italy for the first time since announcing his move to Scuderia Ferrari for 2025. However, it seems that the seven-time world champion has grabbed the attention of other drivers for the wrong reasons at Imola. As Fernando Alonso slammed the British driver for during free practice.

During the second practice session on Friday, Lewis Hamilton failed to give space to Alonso on a cool-down lap. This ruined the Spaniard’s run as he lost crucial time. Fernando Alonso did not shy away from expressing his feelings on the team radio. The two-time world champion claimed that Hamilton thought as if he was the only one out on track during the session.

Moreover, Fernando Alonso highlighted that this was the second incident of the session. As per the Spanish driver, previously Hamilton had impeded him at Turn 12 while this incident took place at Turn 7. Alonso would be hoping that this does not happen in Qualifying.

It's the second lap he does it, you know? Turn 12 and now Turn 7. Fernando Alonso stated

Max Verstappen not happy with Lewis Hamilton after Friday at Emilia Romagna GP

Fernando Alonso was not the only one unhappy with Lewis Hamilton’s driving in FP2. Hamilton’s arch-rival Max Verstappen faced a similar incident with the Briton during the same session. The seven-time world champion apologized to the Dutchman and admitted that it was his fault. However, Verstappen was not willing to accept his apology.

Max Verstappen mentioned that this was not the first time Hamilton had impeded him during a session. The reigning world champion highlighted he tried to stay calm but this incident repeated itself. Although, Verstappen claimed that Red Bull was facing more important issues for the Emilia Romagna GP weekend.

It’s just not the first time. You try to of course always stay calm about it, but yes, it happened again at the other end also. I don’t want to really talk about it too much because that’s not our issue. Max Verstappen said, as reported by Metro.co.uk

It seems that Lewis Hamilton is facing a difficult time trying to stay away from other cars at Imola. However, the seven-time world champion must be more careful in Qualifying if he wants to avoid being penalized for the race. Fans could expect an interesting Quali session this weekend.
